Our Commitment
doesitaddup.com is committed to making its calculators and content accessible to as many people as possible, including those who use assistive technologies. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.
Partially conformant — WCAG 2.2 AA
We are actively working to identify and address accessibility gaps. This statement reflects the current state of the site as of the date above.
What We've Done
- All pages use semantic HTML landmarks (
<main>, <nav>, <footer>) with appropriate ARIA roles
- A skip-to-main-content link is provided as the first focusable element on every page
- Color contrast meets or exceeds WCAG 2.2 AA ratios for body text and interactive elements
- All calculator inputs have associated
<label> elements
- Keyboard navigation is supported throughout — all calculators can be operated without a mouse
- Pages do not use auto-playing audio or video
- Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
- The site works in both light and dark color schemes
Known Gaps
The following are known accessibility limitations we are working to address:
- Google AdSense iframes — Third-party advertising content loaded via Google AdSense is outside our direct control. These iframes may not fully meet WCAG standards. We cannot modify AdSense's generated markup.
- Blog split-view panel — The two-column layout with the inline article panel (desktop only) may be difficult to navigate for screen reader users in some configurations. We are reviewing the reading order.
- Complex calculator outputs — Some calculators (graphing calculator, normal distribution, sine wave) produce canvas-based visual outputs that do not have equivalent text descriptions. We are adding descriptive ARIA labels and text summaries to these.
- Color as sole indicator — Some result indicators (Magic 8-ball color coding) use color alone to convey meaning. We plan to add text labels alongside color cues.
Technical Specification
doesitaddup.com relies on the following technologies for conformance:
- HTML5
- CSS3
- JavaScript (ES modules)
- WAI-ARIA 1.2
